Jurmala

Jurmala

The area around Jurmala (Seashore), west of Riga, is filled with small towns and beach resorts. There are marvelous beaches, dunes, woodlands, museums, galleries, restaurants, pubs, cafés and thousands of mansions and old wooden houses. The area is surprisingly quiet, even during the summer and it's a good place to relax for a few days. It is very easy to find accommodation. There are good rail and road connections to Riga, but if you are driving your own vehicle you will have to pay a toll when entering the area (probably one of the reasons it's so quiet).
