Lethbridge
Lethbridge was originally a coal-mining center, but nowadays it is a commercial and service center for an irrigated farming and ranching district. The city's diverse industries include sugar refining, food processing, brewing, steel fabricating and the manufacture of electronic equipment. There are federal agricultural and veterinary research stations in Lethbridge. The University of Lethbridge was founded in 1967.
Accommodation and restaurants are available in town. Lethbridge is on the Oldman River in the south of Alberta, 440 km south from Edmonton and 2780 km west from Ottawa.
