The Ardennes is the most spectacular region in Luxembourg. The area is usually referred to as Eisléck or Oesling and lies in the north of the country. It boasts scenic valleys, rapid flowing rivers and plateaus with old castles towering high above the surrounding land. There are three major towns in the region, Clervaux, which is the most accessible, Vianden, where most tourists go and Wiltz, a very popular place, because it is not far from the spectacularly located hamlet of Esch-sur-Sûre.
The main road in the region is the E421, which connects the Ardennes with the city of Luxembourg. Some of the larger towns in the area have rail connections, while buses serve many others.
