Marsa Matruh
Marsa Matruh is in the north of Egypt on the Mediterranean coast. There are several excellent beaches such as Rommel's beach east of town, Ubbayid beach and Ageeba beach, both to the west. Many people use Marsa as a basis to visit the Siwah oasis 290 km to the southwest, close to the Libyan border. The tiny Bedouin museum in the center of town is worth a visit.
Marsa matruh has bus connection with Alexandria and Libya. There are some hotels and restaurants in town.
