Monchique
Monchique lies on the beautiful forested slopes of the Serra de Monchique, 170 km southeast of Lisbon. Monchique's main feature is its church of Igreja Matriz, which has a unique stone portal.
Not far from town is the spa of Caldas de Monchique. The area around Monchique is excellent for hiking and Foia, the highest peak of the Algarve, is in the vicinity. There are several hotels and restaurants in Monchique.
