Pétionville

Pétionville is a Caribbean party resort. It is only 7 km southeast of Port-au-Prince, but it's a completely different world. There are countless glitzy shops, clubs and restaurants, where the country's elite come to spend their weekends. Because of its altitude, Pétionville is generally cooler than the capital.

Pétionville is a good place to spend a few days, if you want to get away from the heat and poverty of Port-au-Prince. There are numerous hotels in town. Many restaurants in Pétionville serve some of the best French cuisine in Haiti. Pétionville is connected with Port-au-Prince by three throughways.

Because of the current situation in Haiti it is not recommended to travel to Pétionville, or any other destination in Haiti at this moment.
