The Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês (Peneda-Gerês National Park) is a wilderness with spectacular scenery. The park lies in the north of Portugal and straddles the Spanish border. It boasts a wide variety of animals and plants and the park is excellent for hiking. There are several places where horses and canoes can be hired.
