Plain of Jars
The Plain of Jars consists of an area around the town of Phonsavan in the Xieng Khuang Province. There are numerous huge jars scattered over the plain, but their origin is unknown. The largest of the jars weights some 6,600 kg (6 tons). The jars have all been shaped from solid stone, which does not originate from the area. Thong Hai Hin is the largest of the five sites where jars are clustered. There you can see the plain's largest jar, as well as two pavilions and restrooms built for the crown prince.
