Pondicherry

The pleasant town of Pondicherry resembles a Mediterranean town, with its whitewashed houses and nice looking streets. Pondicherry is a former French colony and a good place to stay if you want to visit the spiritual toen of Auroville, 10 km away. In Auroville practitioners combine yoga with modern science. There are several hotels and restaurants in town. Pondicherry is 1815 km south of Delhi.
