Port-Gentil
Port-Gentil is an oil town 150 km southwest of Libreville, on Ãle de Mandji, an island at the mouth of the Ogooué River. There are many foreign (oil) workers in town. Most of them live in the northern part of the city, around Cap Lopez. Most of the luxurious accommodation can be found there as well as the city's best beach.
The African quartiers are more to the south of the city and more of the cheaper accommodation and restaurants are situated there. Port-Gentil has many bars and nightclubs.
The city is connected to the capital by air and water. Riverboats run between Port-Gentil, Lambaréné and Ndjolé as well.
