The Serengeti is probably one of the world's best-known national parks. It covers an area of 14,763 km² (5757 sq miles) of endless, treeless plains and is connected with the Tanzanian Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Maswa Game Reserve, as well as the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya.
There are millions of antelope, gazelle, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra and other herbivores that are constantly on the move in search of pasture. The predators that feed off them follow in their trails. They include cheetah and lion.
There are several campsites and lodges in the park.
