Sharjah

Sharjah is the third largest of the seven emirates making up the United Arab Emirates. Sharjah is an interesting town where you can find the country's second largest mosque and some interesting architecture. The archeological museum and the natural history museum are both worth a visit and you can visit the amusement park just outside town. Sharjah's souk is one of the oldest in the country and gives a good idea of the way of life in the past. The city is also one of the best places in the UAE to buy Persian carpets.

Accommodation and restaurants are widely available in Sharjah. The city lies just north of Dubai on the coast and several highways connect the two.
