Shark Bay World Heritage and Marine Park

Shark Bay World Heritage and Marine Park protects Shark Bay on Australia's west coast. The bay boasts fantastic beaches and is an important place for sea-grass beds. Underwater are numerous rocky masses of blue-green algae, known as stromatolites. At Monkey Mia you can see dolphins.

An entrance fee has to be paid to visit the park and you have to follow several guidelines. Denham is the main town on Shark Bay and some accommodation is available there. Shark Bay World Heritage and Marine Park is some 750 km north of Perth and 3500 km northwest of Canberra.
