Shela

Shela is south of Lamu, some 240 km northeast of Mombasa. It is about 40 minutes walking along the coast from Lamu. When tide is in you might have to wade through the water at several places. You can also take a dhow. There are excellent beaches in Shela as well as the famous mosque with its characteristic minaret.

Both accommodation and restaurants are available in Shela.
