Tembe Elephant Park

The Tembe Elephant Park was established in 1991, to protect the last free-roaming elephants in South Africa. Nowadays, several hundred of the animals can be found in the area, although poachers remain a problem. The area can only be visited on organized tours.

The Tembe Elephant Park is in the east of South Africa, on the border with southern Mozambique.
