The Southwest
In the southwest of Colombia are the two archaeological sites of San Agustín and Tierradentro, as well as the beautiful colonial city of Popayán. San Agustín and Tierradentro are among some of the most interesting tourist sights in the region. They both include numerous ancient statues, tombs and burial mounds.
In Popayán are many interesting churches, museums and colonial mansions. The largest city in Colombia's southwest is Cali, but it is laidback and of little interest to travelers. Cali is Colombia's third largest city.
