Tururu (Tororo)
Tururu is 185 km northeast of Kampala, not far from the border with Kenya. There are two Hindu temples in town, but the Asian community was ordered out of the country by Idi Amin in 1972, so now one of the temples is used as a Muslim educational center. Immediately southwest of Tururu is a volcanic plug that provides excellent views from its top.
There are several hotels and restaurants in Tururu. The railway station is in the east of town and the bus and matatu (minibus) park is close to the market in the center of town.
