Watarrka National Park

The Watarrka National Park is home to the spectacular Kings Canyon, a narrow gorge with cliffs soaring up to 300 m. The park offers a wide variety of environments in a relatively compact area. There are permanent springs, surrounded by fragile ferns and red sand hills, covered by desert oaks and spinifex.

An area of lush palm trees is known as the Garden of Eden. Not far from there is the Lost City, a maze of weathered domes that look uncannily like buildings.

The Watarrka National Park is in Australia's Northern Territory, 1330 km south of Darwin and 2100 km northwest of Canberra.
